Prayer Ministry at the Women’s Retreat
What is Soaking Prayer?
(Friday night after Session I in your seats or anywhere in the room that you’re comfortable)
Soaking Prayer is a time to come into the Presence of God in a posture of receiving, allowing Him to minister to you directly in body, mind, soul, and spirit. It involves simply sitting or lying in stillness. Gentle worship music in the background helps to focus on God and experience His presence, for He dwells in our praise (Psalm 22:3). Soaking is unique in that it does not involve any exertion of effort on your part. Initially it may take time to clear your mind and spirit of responsibilities or concerns or let go of the habit of coming before God with petitions. This is a time to simply rest in His presence and accept His love, peace, and refreshment.
What is Prayer Team Ministry?
(Saturday after Sessions 2 and 3)
During this time of ministry, trained prayer team partners seek to connect each individual prayer recipient to the Father’s heart, the presence of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Prayer teams will be stationed along the side of the room. Please look for a prayer team member to direct you to a prayer team.
What is Prophetic Prayer Ministry?
(Saturday 1:00 – 2:30 pm by appointment via drawing in Brown Center classrooms. Report to the Prophetic Appointment check-in table in The Brown Center. Lottery instructions will be explained in the session).
Personal prophetic ministry is for the purpose of edification, comfort, and encouragement. (1 Corinthians 14:3) It might also bring confirmation to something the Holy Spirit is already doing or saying, or bring a heightened sense of God’s purpose for your life. God may lead a prophetic team along a path that may address problem areas of your life, but this is not a time to address these issues or move into any type of prayer with the ministry team. This time is best spent by allowing the ministry team to continue with the flow of God’s Spirit. Always remember the Written Word of God is the primary way in which God speaks to His people and all prophetic “words” must agree with the clear teaching of Scripture. Prophecy is only one of the many ways God has of speaking to you and giving perspective to your life.
If you desire a prophetic appointment and your name is not drawn this weekend, feel free to make an appointment at the church. Prophetic Prayer Appointments are offered the second Sunday of every month. To make an appointment contact our Parish Life Coordinator, Maggie Dazzio (MDazzio@StAndrews.Church or 843.284.4310).
