Love working with people and want to make a big impact? St. Andrew’s is looking for a full-time Children’s Ministry Volunteer Coordinator. Our mission is to connect children and families to the presence and power of Jesus Christ, and we want every child who walks through our doors to feel seen, known, and loved.

In this role, you’ll be the heart of our volunteer community. You’ll proactively recruit, train, and lead the awesome teams that serve our kids from 6 weeks through 5th grade. Whether it’s managing Sunday schedules or planning high-energy celebrations for our volunteers, you’ll help foster a culture of joy and grace.

Remember when Jesus fed the 5,000? He organized people in groups of 50 and 100 and we need you to do the same. We don’t have 5,000 children each Sunday but you are the person who organizes and deploys our volunteers. You’ll be right in the middle of the action on Sunday mornings and during major events like VBS. Your Role on Our Team

First and foremost, this role is all about building and leading an incredible team. You’ll spend a lot of your time getting to know people across the St. Andrew’s community, identifying potential volunteers, and inviting them to join the fun in Children’s Ministry. It’s not just about finding people to help; you’ll be responsible for onboarding new recruits, keeping the volunteer database organized, and making sure everyone feels like they have a clear place in our mission to help kids feel seen, known, and loved.

On the logistics side, you’ll be the master of the schedule. This means coordinating volunteers for Sunday mornings and special events to ensure every classroom, from the nursery through 5th grade, is fully staffed and ready to go. You’ll need to be a clear communicator, handling last-minute adjustments with ease and making sure expectations are well-understood. You will also be a key presence on the ground during Sunday mornings and major events like VBS or Christmas Camp, and you’ll help manage childcare needs for other church programs like Alpha or Life Groups.

Finally, you’ll be the chief encourager and trainer for the team. You’ll lead orientation and training sessions to make sure everyone is up to speed on safety protocols, background checks, and the ministry’s vision. Beyond the technical stuff, you’ll focus on volunteer appreciation, planning fun celebrations and small ways to say “thank you” so that every volunteer feels truly valued. By keeping the Volunteer Room and Cafe organized and inviting, you’ll help foster a joyful culture where our team can flourish while serving our families.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and ideally have professional administrative or management experience. A strong and mature personal relationship with the Lord is essential, as the position requires a wholehearted belief that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Successful applicants will demonstrate top-notch organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity. We are looking for a self-motivated and dependable leader who has a genuine passion for supporting ministry to children and families. Finally, the role requires a dedicated presence on Sunday mornings and during major ministry events.
