Don’t just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon: Genesis 12.1-9; Matthew 28.16-20.

    1. The God of the Bible is a sending God.
    2. The God of the Bible is a blessing God.
    3. God has blessed you and sent you to be a blessing.

Discussion Questions

  • In what ways did God bless the world through Abraham (and Sarah)?
  • In what ways is God on mission in the world?
  • Can you look back and see God’s hand at work in your life even though you were not aware He was working?
  • How did God call you to Himself?
  • Were you looking for God or did He surprise you?
  • Can you think of some ways St. Andrew’s is on mission in our world? Have you participated with St. Andrew’s in mission?
  • What is your mission field (specifically, not abstractly)?
  • What is the interplay between leaving/sending and blessing?
  • What would it look like if you sought to bless every person who crossed your path?
