In my August 2021 Congregational Letter I noted that while it remained our plan to return the 9.00 am blended worship service in the Historic Church we have not had success locating a worship leader for that service. We remain unable to find a worship leader. However, I understand the interest in and need for a Rite II service in the Historic Church (for those newer to Anglicanism, Rite II means a contemporary language service rather than a traditional language service). So….
Beginning Sunday, 24 October, under the musical direction of Mark Bebensee, our parish organist, we will resume the 9.00 am service in the Historic Church (we would start earlier but Mark has recently departed for a European vacation). The service will incorporate hymns and suitable praise music to be played on the organ.
We will continue to look for a contemporary worship leader for the service. I welcome your prayers that the Lord will lead us to a worship leader. In the meantime, I am grateful for Mark Bebensee’s willingness to step into this role allowing us to resume the service.
In the family,
+Steve
