From Mike Hughes, Senior Warden

Dear Brothers and Sisters at St. Andrew’s,

On behalf of the Vestry, I am writing today with an important update.  Earlier this week, the Vestry voted to call the Rev’d Canon Randy Forrester as the next rector of our parish. Randy came on staff in September of 2017 and for over eight years, he has directed and expanded the ministry of the Ridley Institute, as well as launching Holy City Fellows.  For the past few months, Randy has led us through a transitional time as Priest-in-Charge.

Given his many years of pastoral leadership, the Vestry recognized in Randy the Lord’s provision for the right person to lead St. Andrew’s into the next chapter of ministry together. Please join me in giving thanks to the Lord for his faithful care and guidance for our church.

In Christ’s service,
Mike

Dear Friends,

I am deeply humbled by the trust that the Vestry has placed in me to serve Christ and his people at St. Andrew’s in this new role.  When the Lord called us here over eight years ago, Paisley and I had no idea how his plans would unfold.  We are delighted that he has called us to continue to serve him here.

What St. Paul wrote to one of his churches captures our feelings about St. Andrew’s: “we were happy to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.” (1 Thessalonians 2:8).  This parish – its people and mission – are very dear to Paisley and me, and to our children (Azure, Julian, Clive, and Finlay).

By God’s grace, and alongside each of you, I will continue to advance the ministry of connecting people to the presence and power of Jesus Christ.

In Christ,
Randy Forrester
Rector, St. Andrew’s Church
