Bible Study

Don’t just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon: 1 Corinthians 7:17–24; Mark 1:14–20.

Sermon Outline

  • A choice to be made
  • A command to be obeyed
  • A cost to be weighed

Sermon Questions

  1. Read closely Deuteronomy 7:7–8, Ephesians 1:4, and 1 Thessalonians 1:4–5. What do these scriptures have in common?
  2. What are your associations with the word, ‘repentance’? What difference does it make that Jesus issues this call from Galilee (the north of Israel), not Jerusalem?
  3. Are there — if you’re honest — “words of Jesus” (see Mark 8:38) of which you are ashamed?
